Meghalaya Agriculture Board signs MOU to connect state Farmers with International brands

The Agriculture Marketing Board of Meghalaya has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lulu Group, under the auspices of Apeda and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, to establish a strategic partnership for mutual growth and the promotion of agricultural products from Meghalaya in the GCC countries.

 

“The government of Meghalaya has collaborated with various government agencies and international players such as Apeda and the Lulu Group over the past years to enhance the marketability of our farmers’ produce in the international arena. We have achieved notable success in marketing the Geographical Indication tagged Meghalaya Khasi Mandarin and Kew Pineapple in the Gulf Market,” Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh, Agriculture Minister said.

 

“Furthermore, the State Government has also successfully shipped its Lakadong Turmeric and Ginger to the European market,” she added.

 

It may be mentioned the state has achieved notable success in marketing the Geographical Indication tagged products like Meghalaya Khasi Mandarin, Kew Pineapple, Lakadong Turmeric, and Ginger in international markets
