Meghalaya Govt has deferred the launch of the new NCERT textbooks and issue of appointment letter to the new recruit teachers by the end of this Month.
Talking to Media, the Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said the launching is deferred following the scheduled visit of President of India Droupadi Murmu to Tura.
“The launching of new textbooks was supposed to be on 16th of this month but due to the visit of President of India Droupadi Murmu scheduled visit to Tura and Shillong the programme is deferred,” Sangma told Media.
“We will reschedule the same programme along with the issue of appointment letters to the new recruit teachers by 25th of this Month,” he added.
The President will inaugurate the 5th Meghalaya Games in Tura. Sangma further said in 2024, the state Education Department will have new textbooks with certain modifications as the State Government.
As of now, he said, English, Mathematics and Science will be adapted in 2024 but from 2025 onward even social science will also be changed.
