Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh told Meghalaya News 24 that the state Government has identified around 10 Tourism Development projects in the state and is seeking support from North Eastern Council (NEC) for its consideration.
While stating that the Government has identified few Projects, Lyngdoh said some of them have gone to the NEC for consideration.
“We have already engaged with the NEC, at the level of the secretary and we have drawn attention to a few projects which we would like to get the support of the NEC. The Deputy Secretary of the NEC was attendance at one such program so we have already drawn a list of projects, these will go to NEC for its consideration,” Lyngdoh said.
The Minister further informed that these are projects for which the state Government is seeking support from NEC and have not sought any funding assistance from either Asian Development Bank or National Development Bank.
Asked, he said while some of them are in the pipeline as detail DPRs are being drawn up and will be submitted subsequently.
“We have already identified few Projects and some of them have gone to the NEC for consideration, some of them are in the pipeline, we are drawing up detail DPRs and we will be submitting subsequently and if and when the need arises we will get in touch with union Minister,” The Tourism Minister said.
“There will be a list of around 10 of them,” he added.
Asked, Lyngdoh said if required the Government will take it up with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
