The state Government is yet to address all the issues raised by the Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC) during its meeting with the state Government on Thursday.
Informing this Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC) Secretary Gurjit Singh said as many as five issues are yet to be addressed by the Government. He, however, expressed satisfaction over the blueprint produced by the state Government during the meeting.
“The meeting was good and it ended on a positive note. However, there are certain points which are yet to be addressed by the state Government and we will appraise this during our discussion with the residents of our locality and then whatever decision is taken we will inform the state Government in the second week of January meeting,” Singh said.
Asked about the additional land allotted to the residents of Sweepers’ Colony, he said, “The blueprint that the state Government has shown us and it looks ok, but till the entire thing is finalised considering the issues raised by us, the thing has to wait.”
Asked, the HPC Secretary said, “Around 5 issues the state Government is yet to address.”
Meanwhile, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara prabandhak Committee, General Secretary, Jagdeep Singh though expressed satisfaction with the state Government handling the issue said, there are still certain issues which are still not addressed.
“Yes we had a meeting today will both the Deputy Chief Ministers of Meghalaya Government. We discussed the issues which were raised in the previous meetings and we discussed in detail on those issues and some of the issues which were discussed we reached to some conclusion but there are still certain issues which are still not addressed,” Jagdeep Singh said.
He said all that transpired in the meeting with the state Government will be taken up during discussion with the people at Punjabi lane and the views of the people will be discussed in the January meeting.
Asked, he said, “They have given us blueprint earlier also which as I told that which we want to be modified, few things they have modified but there are certain things which still needs to be addressed. To some extent I would say that the Government is working in the positive direction, to some extent I would say that yes the Government is working in the positive direction and to some extent we are satisfied, but yes there are certain issues which are still to be addressed, then only I can say that yes we are satisfy.”
“ We will come back with the issues which are not addressed today,” Singh added.
