The state on Friday recorded 8 new Covid cases taking the tally of active cases to 17.
Of these, six cases were detected in West Garo Hills and 2 in West Jaintia Hills.
As of today, the West Garo Hills District has 10 active cases, while the number of active COVID cases in East Khasi Hills is 05 and 02 active cases are there in West Jaintia Hills.
The death toll in the state has also gone up to 1626 with the new death case reported in West Garo Hills on Friday morning.
Two Covid patients have also recovered while four are still being hospitalized.
Meanwhile, the total tests conducted are 1439422 of which 96845 are positive confirmed cases.
