Meghalaya police identifies 6 areas where mobile patrolling will be carried out

Meghalaya Police have identified six areas where citizens of both Kuki as well as Meitei communities reside in Shillong where mobile patrolling by the police will be carried out.

Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP) Dr LR Bishnoi said these areas include Happy Valley, Nongthymmai, Nongshilliang, Laitumkhrah, Madanrting and some scattered areas,

“We have identified certain areas where the citizens and the youths of both communities are residing in Happy Valley, Nongthymmai, Nongshilliang, Laitumkhrah, Madanrting. and few other scattered areas are there. In those areas we have already drawn a  plan to strengthen the mobile patrolling in those areas,” DGP said.

Moreover, the Police have also communicated with the administrative officials of various Education institutions like NEHU where the students from various states of Northeast are studying.

“Total we have identified six areas and rest some educational institutions like many students are studying in NEHU, so we are in touch with the administration of NEHU also, so far no problem. We are not visualizing much of the problem here,” he added.
