Ri Bhoi police on Friday arrested three drug peddlers and seized 1.85 kilograms of Heroin worth Rs 14 crore in the international market.
Acting on a tip off, the Ri Bhoi Police laid a trap at Mawdaron Saiden, Nongph, since Thursday evening and on Friday morning at around 5 am intercepted the tourist bus bearing registered number MN 01 AA 0484 coming from Manipur via Assam was intercepted and thoroughly checked..
Police informed that 158 soap boxes containing the contraband were recovered from the said vehicle.
Police have arrested the bus driver along with the conductors namely Sadam Hussain, Igbal Hussain and Rashi Judin, who were responsible for bringing drugs worth Rs. 14 crores.
Police have started a thorough investigation with regards to the flow of illegal drugs in the state and to apprehend others involved in the racket.
The matter is under inquiry and the case have been registered under NDPS act for legal action.
