Assam Government on Tuesday instituted a one man inquiry commission under a Retired Judge of the High Court to investigate and inquire into the circumstances leading to the firing by the Assam Police at Mukroh Village in the Assam Meghalaya border in which six people lost their lives.
In a press statement issued by Assam Government, the inquiry commission is asked to submit its report within three month.
Earlier, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma had taken up the matter with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Bishwasarma.
“Yes I have spoken to the Assam CM, our discussion was very brief and has assured that whatever can be done from the Assam government and whatever cooperation required the Assam CM will give his support,” added CM.
