BJP MLA AL Hek on Wednesday informed that implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) at Mawpat village will start very soon. The State Government has a sanction of over Rs 28 crore for the scheme.
After meeting with PHE Minister Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, Hek said the proposal for inclusion of Mawpat under JJM was submitted by him quite some time back.
Hek said the minister has assured that the scheme will immediately be sanctioned and very soon a foundation stone will be laid for starting the implementation of the JJM to provide water tap connection to every household in Mawpat village.
“The state level sanctioning committee has already approved a sanction of over Rs 28 crore for the scheme under the JJM, “Hek said.
Hek informed that the incubation centre at Mawpat is also ready for inauguration. The centre was sanctioned at a cost of Rs 18 crore when he was MIDC chairman, the post which is now currently held by Tongkhar.
“This scheme is for the whole Dorbur Shnong of Mawbat, around fifteen thousand people will be benefitted from this scheme, “ the legislator added.
