Changing the face of secondary education in the East Jaintia Hills District, an unique programme called ‘Project Ka Lawei’ is introduced where digital learning solutions have been integrated for the benefit of the students.
Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, Abhilash Baranwal, and Jonathan Shylla, Addl. The Deputy Commissioner put together an ambitious project called “Ka Lawei.”
“Ka Lawei” means “The Future.” for digital education in East Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya.
Appreciating the Deputy Commission of this initiative, Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said East Jaintia Hills will be the first district in the state where this programme is implemented.
“The DC of East Jaintia Hills is doing its best to uplift the education scenario in the district. I am happy to learn that he is from the DF fund. He even went ahead to introduce a Mission called the Ka Lawei, where digital learning in the district,” Sangma said.
“ I think East Jaintia Hills will be the first district in the state where this programme is implemented at the District level, it’s something good about the initiative, I see the support from the teachers, parents, students who are really excited about such learning in the classroom,” he added.
As part of the programme, aComprehensive Bridge Course has been prepared for each school by studying their academic plans and baseline assessment results. The course consists of interconnected videos covering the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades and extending to the 6th grade.
In addition to the video recommendations, the bridge course has a specific practice section focusing on Maths, Science, and Social Science. This combination of video content and targeted practice exercises are given to ensure a well-rounded learning experience for students.
