SHILLONG, MAR 20: Removal of defacement from government property, public property and private property has been carried out over the past 72 hours of the enforcement of the model code of conduct (MCC) in the state.
Removal of defacement from government properties within 24 hours was 323, from public properties within 48 hours was 599 and from private properties within 72 hours was 253.
109 posters were also removed from government premises and 248 from public spaces. 228 banners were removed from government premises, 440 public spaces and 43 hoardings from government premises and 58 from public spaces.
In adherence to the ECI guidelines, prohibitory orders have been issued by the Districts, activation and placement of Flying Squads in all Assembly Segments.
Expenditure Monitoring agencies have been activated
Government Departments have been sensitized on provisions of the Model Code of Conduct
Photos of Political functionaries are being removed from Government websites.
