Rs 50 lakh earmarked for each district for renovation of dilapidated buildings of police quarters and barrack: Prestone

SHILLONG, FEB 23: Deputy Chief Minister incharge PWD (Roads & Buildings) Prestone Tynsong on Friday informed that Rs 50 lakh has been earmarked for each district for renovation of dilapidated buildings of police quarters and barrack.

Tynsong in his reply during the assembly session, said, “We are identifying the dilapidated buildings. In this current financial year, the state government has earmarked Rs 50 lakh to each district to meet these challenges……”

 

“I assure this House that we will further strengthen and make sure place (of stay) of police personnel is up to the standard,” he added.

 

Tynsong also informed that during this current year quite a number of reformation has taken place in the police department.

 

“After identifying and realising that this is need of the hour, we have created a separate engineering wing, which is now fully operationalised,” he said.
