SWS East Jaintia Hills condemns headman of Thangskai village for issuing PRC to outsider for medical seat under State quota

The Synjuk Waheh Shnong (SWS) East Jaintia Hills District on Friday condemned the headman of Thangskai village for issuing a permanent residential certificate (PRC) to a person from outside the state for applying for medical seat under the State quota.

“We strongly condemn the action of the headman of Thangskai which has affected the allotment of medical seats for our students and also affected the indigenous community as a whole. His action has brought shame to all the traditional heads in the district,” SWS president Hambertus Nongtdu said in a statement.

He said the Synjuk also demanded the Thangskai dorbar shnong to immediately cancel the PRC issued to such a person from outside the state.

“We also demanded the JHADC to also take necessary action on the matter,” Nongtdu added.

It may be mentioned here that the KSU in its complaint lodged with the chief minister Conrad K Sangma and health minister Ampareen Lyngdoh recently had alleged that one Ayush Kumar had submitted a PRC from Thangskai village in East Jaintia Hills. Kumar had also submitted a birth certificate from Bihar without a court order and a CBSE document from Rajasthan.
