The ongoing talks with the banned Militant outfit HNLC is coming to the point of closure very soon. This was informed by the Spokesperson of MDA 2.0 Government and cabinet Minister Paul Lyngdoh on Friday.
Cabinet also gave its approval to the Governor’s Address ahead of the upcoming Budget Session. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma chaired the meeting.
Speaking to reporters, Lyngdoh said, “We made a reference to talks that are ongoing with the HNLC and which are coming to a point of closure very soon.”
The Governor’s address will also highlight the interstate border talks between Assam and Meghalaya where the governments of both the states will deliberate on the remaining six areas of differences.
“We made a mention of the dispute between Assam and Meghalaya, the border dispute and we commit to resolving the remaining 6 areas of difference in a manner that is fair, peaceful and to the advantage of citizens of both states,” the Government spokesperson said.
He also mentioned that the cabinet dealt with the issue of Mukroh which has found place in the Governor’s address and the steps taken by the State Government.
Further, Paul told reporters that infrastructure and critical areas which need immediate attention are also mentioned in the governor’s speech.
