UDP felicitates Hill State Movement volunteers

“No Hill State, No Rest” was the call as the leaders and volunteers to part in the Non Violence agitation to attain Statehood. Recalling the contribution of the Hill State Movement volunteers, the United Democratic Party (UDP) on Monday felicitated over 50 volunteers.

Informing about the event, UDP working president Paul Lyngdoh said, “This programme is organised to felicitate volunteers who fought for our separate state, most of them fortunately are still around and today we were able to felicitate around 50-55 of them , the rest who couldn’t attend today’s programme will be felicitated by the party in due course of time.”

“As of today we have felicitated around 55 of them but we have a list of around 200 plus so once we get in touch with them we will certainly felicitate them,” he added.

UDP President Metbah Lyngdoh also handed over mementos, shawl and a cash award of Rs. 5000/- to the volunteers.
