SHILLONG, MAR 2: The Border Security Force has shot dead a villager in Shella village in East Khasi Hills District on Friday night.
Superintendent of Police Rituraj Ravi on Saturday said the deceased has been identified as Arsen M Marak.
He said post mortem is under progress.
The SP said that police are yet to receive any FIR from any side.
He said that police are still investigating into the matter.
According to the SP, the BSF had claimed that they open fire in self defence as they being attacked and threatened.
“We are still investigating and inquiring into that,” he said.
