With over three months left for the Meghalaya Assembly Polls 2023, the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) has identified candidates in 58 out of the 60 seats. This was informed by NPP National President Conrad Sangma while addressing a NPP joining program in Shillong.
NPP National President Conrad Sangma informed, “We have identified our potential candidates in 58 (out of 60) constituencies and that is a huge jump from what we had in the last election.”
“Most of them we have announced and soon we will be announcing the rest of the candidates which we have not announced,” he said.
Meanwhile the NPP chief also informed that the party will soon form the election committee which will start the process of formation of the manifesto committee which will be done very soon.
“It’s a matter of days that our state president will be announcing the Election committee. The election committee will form the Manifesto committee and we will work towards bringing the party manifesto very soon,” Sangma said.
The NPP supremo also said, “The election committee will be inviting different areas in which the candidates would like to apply for the party Ticket, specially in the areas where we have not finalized the candidates , so we will be asking for the application of tickets.”
“Of course the candidates who (whose name) have been announced also have to apply, so that application process will start very soon, at the same time the election committee will form the Manifesto committee and we will work towards bringing the party manifesto very soon,” he added.
