The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has submitted its proposal to the State government for sanctioning of funds for documentation of the indigenous customs and traditions.
Speaking to reporters, KHADC CEM Pyniaid Sing Syiem said, “We have already sent our proposals to the State government for final sanction and clearance.”
He informed that the executive committee has decided to invite young students, who are willing to do research on the traditional customs and traditions of the indigenous Khasi people. In this subject, we will have 17 areas of research.
“We have met the Chief Minister twice on this issue. It was a fruitful meeting and in fact, chief minister and government will help fund the KHADC to do this research work in terms of customs, traditions and culture,” he said.
