Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar on Friday said that the Lapangap issue will be taken up during the chief minister-level border talks of Assam and Meghalaya tomorrow. Wherein, the deputy commissioners from both Assam and Meghalaya will also submit their respective reports on the incident during the meeting of the two chief ministers.
Speaking to reporters, Dhar said, “We will discuss the issue. We will finalise the decision on the action to be taken.”
The border talks will be held at State Guest House (Koinadora), Khanapara, Guwahati on Saturday.
He informed that the situation in Lapangap is under control. The deputy chief minister also maintained that Lapangap village does not fall under the area of difference.
“However when the people of Lapangap went to harvest their paddy fields, some conflicts had arisen. So let us see tomorrow,” he said.
“We will try to resolve the issue and we want that peace be maintained by any means,” he added.
