The name of six time BJP legislator AL Hek is there in the list of three probable candidates for the Shillong Parliamentary Seat.
Informing this, Hek claimed, it will depend on the BJP Central leadership to choose whom to give tickets for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be held next year.
“I don’t know the other name but including my name there are three probable candidates. I don’t know who the remaining two names are. We will see among the three names who will be the best choice and whoever is chosen will have to work hard to ensure victory of BJP,” he said.
Meanwhile, the BJP leader has also confirmed that the state executive of BJP will be finalized soon. Hek informed that the newly elected president of Meghalaya BJP Rikman Momin is on his way to Delhi with the list to get approval from the central leadership on the constitution of the new Executive Committee (EC).
“The newly elected president of Meghalaya BJP Rikman Momin is on his way to Delhi with the list (of state executive members) to get approval from the central leadership,” the BJP legislator said.
“I cannot say if the names will be clear in a day or two, because the president has left today only for Delhi, so it depends on if he is meeting the National leaders,” he added.
