Conrad Sangma approves formation of State Executive Committee of NPP

Newly appointed NPP state president and deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong has submitted a proposed list of office bearers of the State Executive Committee which was  approved by the NPP national chief Conrad K Sangma.

 

As per the list, Tynsong has proposed three working presidents – cabinet minister Marcuise N Marak, Jowai legislator Wailadmiki Shylla and former Mylliem MLA Hamletson Dohling and three vice presidents – deputy speaker Timothy D Shira, cabinet minister Comingone Ymbon and Jirang legislator Sosthenes Sohtun.

The list also include 6 general secretaries – Dr. Charles Reuben Lyngdoh (in-charge Administration), Prof. Donkupar War (in-charge Organization), Forward L. Mawlong, lan Botham K. Sangma, MLA, JD Sangma and Abdus Saleh – and 21 secretaries – Samlin Malngiang, Kupar Blah, Mebanri Laloo, Dr David A. Kharchandy, Ransom Sutnga, Jason Sawkmie Mawlong, Teibor Pathaw, MDC (in-charge Media Cell), Auspicious L. Mawphlang, Kimfa Marbaniang, Emlang Lyttan,Embhahlang Syiemlieh, Raynold Kharkamni, Barfi Toi, Sengchim N. Sangma, MLA, Subir R.Marak, MLA, Charming N. Sangma, Aloysius Marak, Nidhuram Hajong, Limison D Sangma MLA, Rakesh A Sangma, MDC and Crozier G Momin, MDC. Daniel Thangkhiew has been proposed as treasurer.

 

All MLAs, chairman, deputy chairman, CEMs, deputy CEMs of ADCs, state president women’s wing, president youth wing will be executive members while Babeth K Sangma and Nihim D Shira are appointed as advisers of the party.

 

Surprise package is former Mawsynram legislator Himalaya M Shangpliang has been appointed as the lone Spokesperson of NPP.

In his letter to Sangma, Tynsong said, “Sir, you will appreciate that due to the dynamics of electoral politics and due to the diversity of the State’s population, it will be difficult to strictly abide by the Constitution of the National People’s Party in so far as appointment of office bearers of the State Executive Committee is concerned.”

 

“Hence as a special case, I request you to kindly consider and grant approval to the proposed list of names which embraces the diversity and inclusiveness both within the party unit as well as in our beloved State of Meghalaya,” he added.
