Lok Sabha Polls: 3 from Tura; 4 from Shillong file nominations

​As many as four candidates on Tuesday filed nominations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Shillong parliamentary seat. While three candidates filed nominations for the Tura parliamentary seat.

 

From Shillong, VPP candidate Ricky AJ Syngkon, RDA candidate Robertjune Kharjahrin and Congress candidate Vincent H Pala, apart from Independent Prof. Lakhon Kma  filed nominations on Tuesday.

 

From Tura, NPP candidate and sitting MP Agatha K Sangma, Congress candidate Saleng A Sangma and an Independent former Meghalaya Civil Services officer Laben Ch Marak filed nominations.

 

Wednesday being the last day of filing of nominations, TMC candidate from Tura Parliamentary seat Zenith M Sangma will file nomination on the last day.

The three time Member of Parliament from Shillong Parliamentary seat Vincent H Pala will contest to retain his seat as so far six candidates have filed their nominations for this prestigious seat.  For NPP candidate from Tura and sitting MP Agatha K Sangma said its a battle to retain her seat.

NPP candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh and an independent candidate, Peter Shallam, have filed their nominations on Friday from the Shillong parliamentary seat.

 

 The voting for the Lok Sabha election for the two parliamentary seats in Meghalaya is scheduled for April 19th.
