Eminent nationalist Naga leader and BJP national vice president, M Chuba Ao, on Sunday
welcomed the initiatives at various levels to mark the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra
Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on April 30.
“There is no political intent….Everything is not political for us. Honestly speaking Mann Ki Baat
programme has a direct connect between India’s top political executive that is the Prime
Minister with the last man in a village or on the street. This radio broadcast by Modiji
had a stellar impact on Swachh Bharat and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programmes,” Chuba
told this journalist.
He pointed out that the programme encouraged children to appreciate small things in their lives
like leaving water for birds during smouldering heat. It had a positive impact on Industries like Khadi,
Indian Toy Industry and various Startups.
“The credit must go to the Prime Minister for reviving the power of radio in this new era of mobile, internet
and audio-visual revolution. It has been innovative and its unique interactive style of presentation
established a unique paradigm of communication”.
He said the saffron party has made elaborate programmes across India to celebrate socio-developmental programmes
on April 30.
“I am party in-charge for Meghalaya and so I will be camping either in Tura or Shillong to join
hundreds of party workers for the grand day,” said Chuba, who hails from Nagaland.

Top party leaders including national president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath

Singh and state Chief Ministers will be among those leaders who will participate in various programmes on the day.

The central government will also release Rs 100 silver coins to mark the special occasion.
“The coin of one hundred rupees denomination shall only be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government on the occasion of 100th Episode of Mann Ki Baat,” the Finance ministry has stated.
The BJP leaders say the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme was started on the occasion of Vijayadashami on
October 3, 2014 just a few months after PM Modi took over the reins of governance in the centre.
The program is a unique example of two-way communication wherein lakhs of citizens give their suggestions, which are mentioned by the Prime Minister in the program. The BJP leaders have also stated that the Mann Ki Baat program
has been a critical instrument towards fulfillment of Dr Ambedkar’s dream of social transformation.
Once Late Arun Jaitley had said the program was a great example of crisp communication at a time when
the culture of long winded statements is over.

In 2019 on the completion of 50th episode of Mann Ki Baat, a book titled ‘Mann Ki Baat – A Social Revolution on Radio’

was also brought out.
