Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday informed that the Chairmen of the respective Regional Committee of Assam and Meghalaya will conduct a joint visit to Khanduli village along Inter state border in West Jaintia Hills on Wednesday.

Informing this, the Chief Minister said, “Tomorrow the Regional committee chairmen of the two regional committees of Assam and Meghalaya will be visiting Khanduli, Assam cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika, will be there along with Deputy chief minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, who is heading the regional committee for West Jaintia Hills.  They will be visiting Khanduli tomorrow or the Day after.”

Assam cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika, who is heading the regional committee for West Karbi Anglong District and Deputy chief minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, who is heading the regional committee for West Jaintia Hills will visit Khanduli village in a bid to resolve the ongoing deadlock between the Karbi community and the Pnar community due to alleged illegal check gate set up in that area.

“ I was told 16th if not 16 then 17th for sure. So like that we are continuing the process. We have to remember that these are very complicated matters and we would like to find quick solutions to it but that is not how things work,” the CM said.

“We need to ensure that we take everybody on board, discuss with all stakeholders and find an amicable solution,” he added.
