Sniawbhalang Dhar denies ‘Nepotism’ allegation in renting out portion of Meghalaya House, Kolkata

Denying the allegation of nepotism or favouritism, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said that Rocky Dhar was the highest bidder where the state government had invited a tender to rent out the ground floor of Meghalaya House, Kolkata  .

Reacting to the allegation that the General Administration Department has allotted the ground floor of the Meghalaya HouseKolkata to the brother of a cabinet minister Rocky Dhar for business purposes, the Deputy Chief Minister said, the tendering process was transparent which cannot be manipulated.

“Meghalaya house, Kolkata, the state Government has invited a tender to rent out a portion, whoever is the highest bidder got it. So many companies bid for the commercial complex, and it’s not just because Rocky is my brother that the tender was given to him. If the government opens a tender, everyone has the right to bid for the same,” Dhar said.

Earlier, the Voice of the People Party (VPP) in a statement expressed shocked and dismayed at the decision of the GAD (A), Government of Meghalaya to allot the ground floor of the Commercial Complex, Meghalaya House located at Russell Street, Kolkatta to one M/S Rocky Dhar, Nongmynsong, Umkdait Block –III, Shillong -793019 for business purpose.
