BSF Inter Frontier Judo, Wushu, Gymnastics, Taekwondo Championships culminates

The BSF Inter Frontier Games of Judo, Wushu, Gymnastics, and Taekwondo concluded on Friday at NEHU Shillong. Around 700 sports persons from Eleven Frontiers of the Border Security Force participated in these four days of competitions.

Sonali Mishra, IPS, ADG, BSF (Eastern Command) Kolkata graced the occasion as the chief guest on the occasion. Also present were Pradip Kumar, IPS, IG BSF, Meghalaya Frontier, Prof. Prabha Shankar Sukla, Vice chancellor NEHU, T S Chavan, AD sports authority of India, senior officers and all ranks of BSF.

 

Speaking at the occasion, Sonali Mishra, IPS, ADG, BSF (Eastern Command) Kolkata, emphasized the significance of sports in building a robust and healthy society.

 

She added that the BSF has recognized the need to maintain a proper equilibrium between a sound mind and a healthy body to achieve sustained professional efficiency.

 

The Chief Guest further mentioned that such competitions not only showcase physical prowess but also contribute significantly to the mental and emotional well-being of the participants.

 

She also acknowledged the dedication and teamwork of the winners and praised the role of the BSF in safeguarding India’s borders and instilling a culture of sports among the troops. The event was officially declared closed by Ms. Sonali Mishra, ADG, BSF (Eastern Command)

 

The closing ceremony commenced with a synchronized march past, where contingents from different frontiers paraded. It was followed by a vibrant cultural programme presented by students of BSF School and BSF troops.

 

During the ceremony ADG felicitated the winners in different events of judo, Wushu, Gymnastics, Taekwondo for their extraordinary achievements and hard work.

 

 

In Judo, Gujrat and Jammu secured the first and second positions, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, in Wushu, Punjab and Jammu claimed the first and second positions. In Gymnastics, Jammu clinched the first position, while Kashmir attained the second position.

 

In Taekwondo, South Bengal and Tripura achieved the first and second positions, respectively.
