Education department to revive district level review and monitoring body

Advisory to the Government in the Education Department, Hima M Shangpliang said the Education department will revive the district level review and the monitoring body to solve various local education issues at the district level.

Talking to reporters,  Shangpliang said they will be attending 12 review meetings in 12 districts where these review meetings will be able to sought out, to solve and to listen to the problems of each and every district.

“In the last assembly session there was a commitment made from the government side that every district would be notified with the district level review and the monitoring body. Now that will be revived and we both (myself and the honourable Minister) will be attending 12 review meetings in 12 districts,” he said.

The Advisory to the Government in the Education Department also informed that it was decided to invite the local legislators to be part of these district level reviews and monitoring. With this the state education department plans to solve the local issues at the district level only.

“What we intend to do by having this review meeting at every district level is we would like to reduce the burden of such problems to come to the state capital. Because there are very very small petty problems, sometimes which could be even soughted out at the district level and therefore, we will allow the district review meeting could be the platform to solve these problems.”

“Now when we say problems means there are problems of infrastructure, school attendance, non attendance of teachers, there will be problems of various kinds. Therefore we would like to listen and sought it out at the district level,” he added.

He also assured that following this they will further take stock of the various kinds of assistance that the schools in rural areas will require.
