Hek to write to centre after labourers assaulted at Mawroh

Cabinet and Senior BJP legislator from Pynthorumkhrah constituency while condemning the incident at Mawlai, Mawroh where 1 labourer died and 2 sustained injuries after the trio were assaulted at a construction site on Wednesday morning, said he will take up the matter with the centre wherein such instances are happening frequently in the state.

 

Talking to Mediaperson, Hek said, this kind of inhumane act cannot be tolerated.

 

“Anybody involved in this kind of inhumane criminal activities should be punished,  he was a labourer building somebody’s house why to kill innocent people,” the Minister said.

 

“We as a government, police, we should take strong action against the people who are taking law into their own hands,” he added.

 

Hek said that he has spoken to the family of the victims and instructed them to file an FIR .

 

The minister also said that he will write to the Centre including the Union Home minister Amit Shah about these incidents as to why such incidents are happening in the state of Meghalaya.

 

“Chief Minister I will talk and also with Home Minister Prestone Tynsong, but I will also write to the centre why this type of things happening, atleast we shouldn’t allow this type of inhumane act to happen in the state,” the senior BJP MLA said.

 

Asked about the Law and Order situation in the state becoming a common occurrence in the state he said the only way to curb these crimes is to arrest the culprit as soon as possible and take the matter at hand seriously by the Government.

 

 

It may be mentioned that a person identified as Arjun Ray (52 years) got severely injured and later passed away at NEIGHRIMS.

 

Meanwhile the SP EKH has informed that a case is being registered and investigation is under progress to identity the culprits in this connection.
