IMD predicts rainfall in Meghalaya; Disaster Management Dept to hold review meeting with IMD, District Admin

The people of Meghalaya are likely to get respite from this unpleasant weather with high temperatures as the Indian Meteorological Department, regional centre has predicted rain and thunder showers across the state, as well as in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

The IMD for the next five days predicts Rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty wind activity is expected to cause disruptions.

This will continue till 4th May. While a yellow warning is issued by the IMD but on 2nd May an orange alert is sounded in Meghalaya.

Minister Incharge of Disaster Management Kyrmen Shylla said in case of heavy rainfall the department is prepared to tackle every situation.

Meanwhile the  Disaster Management Department will hold a review meeting this week with IMD and the District Administration.

Informing this, an official said the meeting is being organised before the Monsoon season starts.
