Adviser to the education department Himalaya M Shangpliang on Tuesday informed that the State government will soon notify the textbook review committee to bring changes in certain textbooks.
Speaking to reporters, Shangpliang said that the textbook review committee is one of the various committees which are in the pipeline as part of preparation for implementation of the new education policy at the school level.
Shangpliang said that the textbook review committee will also provide a lot suggestions and recommendations to the government to bring in a new syllabus, a new curriculum with textbooks containing a lot of local contents
“We are in the mind of exercising to bring in NCERT textbooks too in the present context through the MBOSE,” he added.
He also said, “The textbook committee will go into the changes that need to be brought in certain books. Maybe we would like to change or add on certain chapters or certain topics in certain subjects be it geography, be it science and so on.”
