Police arrests 4 people in connection with Tura violence

Four more people were on Monday arrested by the West Garo Hills police in connection with the Tura violence. With this the total number of arrestees has gone upto 46. So far 39 male and 7 females have been arrested.

The four persons arrested today are Rakmen G Momin, Kezar Marak, Tengsrang A Sangma and Jericho Marak.

It may be mentioned that after Chief ministers meeting in Tura a group of people created ruckus at CM’s Secretariat, pelted stones and destroyed as many as 21 vehicles, including five from the CM’s convoy, on Monday. Many individuals having affiliations with different political parties as informed by the Police have been arrested in connection with the Tura violence case.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday night returned back to Shillong. Although the Chief Minister did not attend his office today, most of the official work was done from his bungalow.
