With the arrest of one more person by the West Garo Hills police in connection with the Tura violence, the number of arrestees has gone up to 48.
Superintendent of Police, Tura Vivekanand Rathore informed that police arrested Rakhi Sangma on Thursday. So far 40 males and 8 females have been arrested.
It may be mentioned that after the Chief Minister’s meeting in Tura a group of people created ruckus at CM’s Secretariat, pelted stones and destroyed as many as 21 vehicles, including five from the CM’s convoy, on Monday. Many individuals having affiliations with different political parties as informed by the Police have been arrested in connection with the Tura violence case .
