President of the United Democratic Party (UDP) Metbah Lyngdoh informed that soon the party will discuss candidates for the up-coming MP and MDC election 2024 but till date the party has not taken any final decision.
Speaking to media persons, Lyngdoh said that it is overwhelming to see that there are many individuals who have expressed their desire to contest MP election from UDP ticket and officially there are 1-2 who have directly communicated to party on the willingness to contest from the party’s ticket.
“Yes I have seen in media reports that formar Mawlai legislators had expressed his desire to contest MP election 2024 from UDP but like I said, till date we have not taken any final decision as the decision will be taken once a meeting of the party is call” said Lyngdoh.
When it comes to MDC election 2024, Lyngdoh said that no final decision has been taken but there are sitting MDCs who have expressed their desire to re-contest the up-coming election from UDP.
