‘Will make a ruckus, they (Centre) have to take a decision’: Ampareen on ILP implementation

NPP candidate for the Shillong parliamentary seat Dr. M Ampareen Lyngdoh on Thursday said NPP will make to make a ruckus over ILP implementation issue and said centre have to take a decision.

Talking to media in Shillong, Dr. Lyngdoh said, despite all the legislators across the party line supporting the state Government’s resolution on the implementation of ILP, but it’s the state Government along with the Tura MP so far is pursuing the matter.

“Let things get into perspective as far as ILP is concerned we must not dislocate the one fact 60 MLAs jointly signed a memorandum to the Government of India. At that point of time party flags were put aside, all leaders in the Legislative Assembly put forward their agreement to have the implementation of the ILP. Unfortunately, it was always the state Government who was rallying along with the MP of 2 Tura seats of the state of Meghalaya. Now I will join hands with the Government, with Tura MP and myself and believe me we will make a ruckus, they (Centre) have to take a decision,” Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh said.

She also assured to create and generate a focus on this agenda.

“I can tell you one thing; we will speak not just in the house in parliament, we will create and generate a focus on this agenda,” the NPP candidate said.

Stating that the National People Party (NPP) led MDA 2.0 government is committed to pursue the ILP agenda with the centre, Lyngdoh said, “I have read all the documents and reports that the MDA 1.0 government had discussed with all the stakeholders. I know what was being said then, and will follow through on the ILP agenda with the same spirit.”

She further said, the government cannot move away from what was discussed with all the stakeholders, the MDA 1 had gone ahead to look at the implementation of the MRSSA in its new version.

“I will stick with what the government says, I will not deviate from what the government has said and committed along with the NGOs. There was a problem with the accent of the bill that has also been sorted. It looks like we are well ahead on the implementation of the ILP,” she said.

Lyngdoh further said ILP has many formulas for implementation and if in Meghalaya the MRSSA is an acceptable idea, the government can go ahead, get the necessary nods as per directions of the state government with the central government and make sure it sees the light of the day.
